Point of Success: POSPay – Gift Cards

  • There are two choices. 
    • Stock cards 
      • Stock Cards are cards with simple designs that have slogans like, ‘A gift for you’ or ‘Gift card’ on the front. 
        • A merchant can choose how many but not which card type. 
        • We cannot guarantee one design or the other, it is based on the availability in our inventory at the time of purchase.
      • 100 cards – $0.75 per card + $10 shipping = $85.00 – however, they can purchase any amount they choose. 
      • Add more shipping for every 250 card set
    • Custom cards 
      • Custom cards are the best to sell – 
      • Custom cards take at least 2-3 days to design 
        • We include 30 mins of design time in each beginning order.
        • Additional design time is billed in 15 min increments at $16.00 per quarter hour. 
        • The extra design time will be handled by Aja and she will communicate with the merchant directly once the order is set. 
      • 2-3 weeks to ship. 
      • The customer card pricing is on the Gift Card Flyer. 
  • Multi-location (chain) concepts can split the cost and distribute between locations  
  • Selling tips for Merchants:
    •  Holiday/Slow time is an excellent time to sell gift cards. 
    • 35% of the value on cards is never used.  
  • In order for a Merchant to use empty gift cards from a previous provider, each card would need to be swiped separately, put info into a Notepad file, and emailed to POSP before we could upload the range,

Transfer of Ownership

If Point of Success software is sold either alone or with the sale of a restaurant we will transfer ownership of the software. The new owner cannot be supported until the software transfer is complete. Once it is determined that there is a new owner, place the account on support hold.  Make notes on the account and the alert note should be “Need Transfer”.

 

Generate a Transfer of Ownership Application in the reports section of SAM under Special forms. The customer number or user code is used to generate the form.  Send the Application for Transfer of Ownership to the seller or buyer or both. See below.

  • Click on “Reports” from left side menu in SAM
  • Click on “ Special Forms”
  • Click on “ Transfer of Ownership”
  • Enter in Customer Code in ALL CAPS
  • Click on print icon and print to PDF
  • Send instruction email to Merchant with attached Transfer of Ownership PDF 
    • Need following documentation for Transfer of Ownership
      • Current owner’s signature and copy of current owner’s legal id
      • Copy of sales agreement showing POS included in the sale

The Application for Transfer of Ownership must be returned by the seller with a copy of their photo ID. The photo ID is used only to verify that the signer of the document is in fact the seller.

If the buyer is unable to get the seller’s signature or photo ID, the buyer can complete the transfer document and return with a copy of the sales agreement showing that the software is an asset of the sale.

 A $100 Transfer fee is required.  If one of our authorized dealers facilitated the transfer we will waive the transfer fee. The dealer must forward the required documents to Point of Success.

In lieu of the $100 Transfer fee, the buyer may:

  • Purchase a six month technical support plan for $299.00
  • Purchase a Point of Success software upgrade:
    • Point of Success version 2 – $499.00
    • Point of Success version 3 with (1) or (2) licences – $199.00
    • Point of Success version 3 with (3) or more licences – $299.00
  • Customer on current Point of Success version = sign up for Point of Success: POSPay 

Once the Transfer is complete, document on the customer account and remove the support hold.

Support

  • All support calls require a SAM Ticket.
  • New Point of Success purchase – Free support for 30 days from first call
  • Per incident  – $89.00
  • Subscription – $45 per month (3 month minimum)
  • 6 month plan – $299.00

International Support

  • Adjust regional settings in Windows to the country the business is located.
  • Limited call options outside US
  • Support calls require an email as a backup method of communicating
  • Skype is an option
  • Currently no credit card options outside of the US

Setting the PIN in Special Edition

  • Once Point of Success is installed you will see two shortcuts on the Windows desktop. 
  • One is for Order Entry and the other is for Office Manager.  
  • Open Office Manager.  
  • Upon opening, the first thing to do is setup/create and administrator (enter the name of the administrator).  
  • The next screen will ask you to choose a PIN.  The PIN you enter will be the PIN for the administrator login for all functions.

    Resetting the PIN ( Support Charge)

Assuming you have done this and forgot the PIN, then a PIN recovery will be needed.  The procedure for a PIN recovery is listed below:

  1. Email a request to recover a lost PIN – be sure to send a photo ID of the software owner with the request. Be sure to include the name of the business in the email request.
  2. Provide a contact phone number so we can call you and logon to your computer using Anydesk.com.
  3. A $89.00 U.S. PIN RECOVERY FEE is payable by credit card at the time of the call.
